It's another grand weekend
on the island. Everyone seems to have something special
happening. We have details on some of the fun.
There is a bake sale
planned by the Women's Auxiliary of Monkey Island.
Stop by the Nifty Thrifty Friday and
Saturday from 10am-4pm for your baked sweets and maybe a wee bargain or
two!
The Shebang Gang would like to ask you to join
us Saturday, Feb 13, 8-11am. It's a pancake breakfast benefit! One of our
own. Doug Morris, better known as Doug the limo guy at Big Shots,
has been diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma. He had surgery on
the morning of new year's eve to remove a tumor and lymph nodes. The
doctors have told him he is stage 2 possibly stage 3. He is supposed to
start Chemo soon, when he can get through all the red tape. We will host a breakfast buffet, $10.00 per
person, and a cash bar for bloody marys and screwdrivers. Thanks to
generous donations ALL proceeds with go to help Doug with getting back
and forth to Tulsa for his treatments and basic essentials.
Saturday Night is when most folks are planning
to wine and dine their sweethearts! We sent a flyer from Anna's
Bananas with bodacious specials plus "Mid-Life Crisis"
is playing live. 257.4618 for reservations and information. The
Shebang has told us they plan to offer 2 fine dinner specials in
addition to their regular menu and plans are a foot for a
Sweethearts Dance at Big Shots and the infamous Mating Game!
257.5569 for reservations and information. (More details below)
We have not heard from our friend at the
Roadhouse and RoadHog but no doubt they are ready and waiting
for you and The Rockin' Armadillo will indeed Rock On this
weekend. So don't tell me there's nothin' to do!
(By the way word is the first Friday
in March the grand bunch at Island Joe's Kentena will be up and running
to welcome you back for the season lakeside and sometime in March
the Quarterdeck at Tera Miranda plans to join the fun. Think
Spring!!!)
